Assembling Your Campaign Team

Select Team Members You Can Trust

The best campaign teams, no matter which seat you campaign for, are diversified with specialized staff members.

Choose a campaign manager as early as possible, because they will be in charge of running your campaign on a daily basis. Treasurer, Finance Director, Communications Director, and Field Director/Volunteer Coordinator are additional positions to take into consideration. If required, the campaign manager can step in to fill these gaps, but not the candidate.

While your campaign committee handles administrative efforts and strategy consultation on your behalf, your team will be the legs on the ground that you need to keep the movement going at all times.

Delegating Positions

A thorough campaign requires several leadership positions that will dictate your team's workflow. In order to streamline communication, it is important to keep the purpose of each department as focused as possible. While certain parts of the team can play more than one position, separating the responsibilities evenly among your campaign team maximizes efficiency.

In addition, each part of your campaign team should report to a different leadership position. Establishing this chain of command structures the way objectives and information travel through your campaign.
